Puerto Vallarta is located in the state of Jalisco on Mexico's West Coast, about 200 miles southwest of Guadalajara. 'Discovered' by Hollywood in 1963 in the movie 'Night of the Iguana', Puerto Vallarta became a second home to many of America's cinematic stars, and has since developed into one of Mexico's most popular scenic destinations.
Puerto Vallarta has about 100,000 permanent residents, and hosts about one million visitors annually. Average daily temperatures in Puerto Vallarta range from 73F in January to 83F in the summer months of June - September.
